OKLAHOMA REAL ESTATE ACADEMY

POLICY STATEMENT

Thank you for your enrollment, and welcome to the Oklahoma Real Estate Academy (OREA), formerly the Tulsa Real Estate Academy.  The objective of this course is to help prepare you for the Oklahoma Real Estate Commission license examination. The following information is provided to help your attendance at OREA be a pleasant and academically beneficial experience.  Your instructors can provide clarification or elaboration on any of the information contained herein.

CONDUCT AND APPEARANCE

For your comfort, breaks will be scheduled approximately once every hour.  No smoking is permitted in the classroom, before class, while class in in session, during breaks, or after class.  Snacks and drinks are permitted in the classroom on breaks (no alcoholic beverages).  We ask that you dress comfortably and modestly, but we do not have any specific requirements in that area.

TARDY ARRIVALS OR EARLY DEPARTURES

It is important that you be prompt in your arrival time.  You may arrive as early as a half  hour before scheduled class time. You must attend the entire class meeting to receive credit for the class.  Partial credit is not available.  If you arrive late or leave early, you may gain information helpful to you study, but you will not receive credit for your partial attendance of  that class.

GRADING STANDARD

This is adult education; you are expected to complete the reading assignments and self assessment questions in a timely fashion.  Your attendance and the course final examination are the only formal assessments of your successful completion of this course.  State law requires attendance of the entire course and successful completion of the final examination.  With no absences a student typically finishes this course in less than two months, but you have up to six months from your enrollment date to successfully complete this course (including the course exam, first attempt) without additional charges. If more than one attempt of the course exam is necessary, you will be charged an additional fee of twenty dollars for each attempt. If you fail to successfully complete this course in the time period provided above, you will be charged an additional one hundred dollar fee to extend your enrollment for an additional six months. Additional administrative fees apply for duplicate or replacement certificates of completion. Records will be maintained for five years.

INCLEMENT WEATHER

Class meetings may be cancelled occasionally due to inclement weather.  We will attempt to contact class members in a timely fashion if a class cancellation becomes necessary.   If you prefer, you may phone our office to check on the schedule.  During inclement weather, the reception desk will have information regarding any class meeting cancellations.

AUDIO AND VIDEO RECORDERS

To encourage class member participation and minimize students' reluctance to ask questions, we ask that you refrain from using audio or video recorders in class.

SECURITY CONSIDERATIONS

Every reasonable effort is made for security during class, but we ask that you adequately monitor personal possessions.  The instructors and staff cannot be responsible for loss or theft.

FINANCIAL INFORMATION

Tuition and fee payments may be made to instructors and staff in the form of check or money order.  A collection and processing fee of twenty dollars will be charged on any checks returned unpaid from a financial institution.

ENROLLMENT CANCELLATION

Any student may cancel their enrollment, by written notification prior to beginning attendance, but not more than ten days after their course registration.  Cancellation is subject to an administrative fee of twenty dollars.  All books and materials must be returned, unmarked and undamaged or an additional book charge of twenty dollars will apply, for total fees and charges of forty dollars.

COURSE GUARANTEE

This course is guaranteed; that is, if you successfully complete our course and examination, then immediately (within thirty days) attempt the state exam and fail to pass, we will allow you to repeat the course at no additional charge, subject to course availability.

This course is approved by the Oklahoma Real Estate Commission and is offered consistent with their rules and requirements.
